Welcome to the homepage of the Dental Council of Hong Kong (“the Council”).
Established under the Dentists Registration Ordinance, Cap. 156, Laws of Hong Kong, the Council executes the statutory functions of registration of dentists, conduct of the Licensing Examination and disciplinary regulation of the dental professionals.
The passage of the Dentists Registration (Amendment) Bill 2024 by the Legislative Council on 10 July 2024 marks a significant milestone for the dental profession in Hong Kong. The relevant amendments has been implemented in phases, as appointed by the Secretary for Health through notices published in the Gazette. The Council remains resolute to fulfilling its statutory functions and providing unwavering support for the successful implementation of the new initiatives.
I am honoured to be the Chairperson of the Council. With the collaborative efforts of all Council Members and the Council Secretariat, we are dedicated to safeguarding public interests through robust, open and fair regulation, upholding professional standards and overseeing the conduct and discipline of registered dentists in Hong Kong.
